LEATHER CARE

Maintaining leather recliners is often a hard task. Many people would preferably leave the job to professionals, in spite of the cost. However, for those who might want to clean it themselves, there is a way. The most critical advice is to avoid water at all costs. The significant detriment to using the liquid is that it leaves huge stains on the leather.

The best alternative is to use a steam cleaner. It might be another expense that you might not be willing to accommodate, but in the long run, it is worth it. Not only does it remove the usual dust, but it also gets rid of the bad smells that could have accumulated. Another option could be the use of saddle soap. It will remove all the dirt, while also ensuring that the seat does not develop cracks.

Use a soap with a mild pH balance or make up a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar. Always test a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn’t leave marks or cause discoloration.

Step 1:

Use a soft damp cloth to rub the solution gently but firmly onto the chair and allow to dry.

Step 2:

Use another dry cloth to buff and polish the surface and remove most of the product. There’s no need to rinse.

Step 3:

Treat your chair with a leather conditioner or wax once or twice a year to keep it supple and protect it from drying out or cracking.

FABRIC CARE

Cleaning a fabric recliner is not as difficult as taking care of a leather one. Nevertheless, that does not mean that you should ignore it. The first thing to always consider is vacuum cleaning. The fabrics on recliner chairs can be sensitive and delicate, and thus, extreme care is necessary. It is recommended to have a soft brush doing the work.

Secondly, baby wipes come in very handy in the process of cleaning the seats. That is best for taking care of small spots with dirt.

It is also good practice to have microfibre cloth available in the house. Combined with a fabric cleaner, it can do an outstanding job of cleaning. While the fabric may not be as sensitive to water as the leather, it would be excellent if the owner could avoid it entirely.

LEATHAIRE CARE

Assuming you have a spill, the best way to remove it is by dabbing at the area with a dry, clean cloth. If that doesn’t work, you can try using distilled water and a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and never put air leather in the washing machine or dryer.

When it comes to air leather furniture, regular vacuuming and dusting are key to keeping it looking its best. You can also spot-clean it with a mild soap and water solution. Always test any cleaning solution in an inconspicuous area first to make sure it doesn’t damage the material.

TAKE CARE OF THE MECHANICS

The principal difference between a standard seat and a recliner chair is the mechanical part. The feature that makes it move around and be manipulated into different angles is also essential when considering maintenance. It is even more critical in recliner chairs for the elderly as they may not have the ability to take care of the furniture appropriately. It is pertinent to ensure to regularly oil the mechanical section.

Again, it is better to be proactive than reactive. Do not wait until the chair produces creaking sounds, or the movement is suddenly jeopardised. Oil it before, and it will serve you diligently for a long time.

or abnormal use. Warranties do not apply to products used for rental, business, institutional, or 
other non-residential uses.

The warranty on covers does not include:
i) Tears, flattening of nap, pilling, fading or shrinkage and is not valid when heavy soiling 
or abuse is evident.
ii) Normal fading, damage due to improper use, damage from lack of required caution 
and/or regular care and maintenance.
Please note that exposure of leather and fabric to a source of direct sunlight or other extreme 
light sources will cause fading and this damage is not covered.
iii) Claims for veins, wrinkling or natural markings in leather from healed scars, tick marks or 
variations in grain or colour.
These characteristics are naturally occurring and is proof that only genuine leather has been 
used.
iv) Stretching of leather or fabric. Relaxing or Loosening of the cover is normal and will 
result from general daily use.
Assume no warranty obligations for defects arising from normal wear and tear, 
accidents, acts of God, negligence, misuse, abuse, shipping/handling or alteration of the 
products.
